Lehigh Valley Startup Weekend 2014 - Second Place
In the Fall of 2014, I participated in the Lehigh Valley's Startup Weekend. I worked with a diverse team to develop a business plan for Connect Forward, an Internet platform that connects high school students to young professionals and college students so that they can figure out if what they think they want to be when they grow up is really what they want to be...
The Gap? Over half of college students change their majors at least once within college, and guidance counselors are not only outnumbered by approximately 460 students per counselor, but they are largely bogged down by paperwork and other administrative tasks, leading to a huge deficit in college and career counseling.
The Solution? After speaking with a large number of parents, teachers, and guidance counselors, we developed the business model for Connect Forward to provide career counseling services to schools and a reputable resource for parents and students to access professional consultations. |
